Data Engineer

Talk Think Do are a young Microsoft Partner who have grown out of an architecture consultancy practice. We have a very strong technical engineering background and are aiming to be the go-to Microsoft Partner for building and operating business critical Azure solutions using AKS and modern DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering practices.

  • Salary £35K - £60K dependent on experience

We use

  • Azure analytics using Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake.
  • Azure PaaS SQL and NoSQL databases with other supporting data technologies such as Redis, Azure Search and ElasticSearch.
  • CI/CD using Azure DevOps pipelines and GitHub actions.
  • Infrastructure as Code approach using Pulumi, ARM templates and Bicep.
  • Comprehensive monitoring, APM and alerting using Azure Monitor, Application Insights and DataDog.

Your responsibilities

  • Work with product owners, customers and the rest of the team to understand requirements and design and implement great solutions to their problems.
  • Work with support teams and site reliability engineers to ensure we maintain an excellent service to our customers.
  • Take ownership for secure, high quality solutions through to production with modern DevOps solutions.
  • Study for relevant Microsoft certifications to support our partnership with Microsoft.

Essential to have

  • At least 5 years of experience developing solutions using cloud data analytics.
  • Azure experience
  • Experience designing, implementing and operating ETL pipelines.
  • Strong SQL experience.
  • Great communication skills and attitude.
  • A willingness to work learn and work across a number of different stacks, be it backend, web or mobile.

Desirable to have

  • Experience working with DevOps toolsets.
  • A background in business intelligence, development or infrastructure.
  • A machine learning and data science background
  • Experience with building reports with PowerBI.
  • Experience with Docker or Kubernetes.
